Digital Construction Week 2024 Speaker Q&A - KREODx's Chun Qing Li

What are the key themes you’ll be covering in your ‘The rise of the digital and physical master builder’ presentation?

In “The rise of the digital and physical master builder” presentation, I’ll delve into the convergence of digital technology and traditional craftsmanship in construction. Key themes include the integration of KREOD Integrated Intelligent Automation (KIDIA) software, enhancing project management efficiency and outcomes. Additionally, I’ll discuss the evolution of roles within the construction industry, emphasising the emergence of digitally adept master builders who leverage technology for enhanced productivity and innovation.

  • Digital Mastery: How tools like KIDIA (KREODx Integrated DfMA Intelligent Automation) revolutionise building processes.

  • Sustainability and Innovation: Leveraging digital solutions for eco-friendly practices.

  • Future Trends: Evolving construction through an integrated digital transformation.

  • AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IA (Intelligent Automation): Enhancing planning, design and delivery.

  • Case Studies: Real-world impacts of digital integration in construction.

Can you share a bit about your background and career? What unique insights or perspectives do you bring to this topic?

With a career encompassing design and build projects like the KREOD London Olympic Pavilion and residential developments, alongside a background in project management spanning over a decade, I offer a comprehensive perspective on the built environment. My hands-on experience with projects of varying scales, coupled with my proficiency in utilising technologies like KREOD Integrated Intelligent Automation (KIDIA) software and Platform, enables me to bring unique insights into the intersection of digital innovation and traditional construction practices.

What key takeaways or actionable points do you hope attendees will take away from your session?

From our session, I hope attendees grasp the transformative potential of KREOD Integrated Intelligent Automation (KIDIA) software in streamlining construction processes. They should understand its capability to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project outcomes. Moreover, I aim for attendees to recognise the importance of embracing technology-driven solutions in the built environment sector. Ultimately, I hope they leave with actionable insights on integrating KIDIA into their projects to drive innovation and competitiveness in their respective fields.

  • Adopting KIDIA: Strategies for integrating KIDIA into their workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy and certainty.

  • Embracing Digital Tools: Understanding the importance of digital tools in modernising construction processes.

  • Sustainability Practices: Implementing sustainable, innovative construction techniques facilitated by digital automation.

  • Future-Proofing: Preparing for future industry trends by leveraging AI and IA in construction projects.

  • AEC Industry Integration: Enhancing collaboration across Architecture, Engineering, and Construction sectors through unified digital platforms.

In your opinion, what are the key trends shaping the built environment?

In my view, the key trends shaping the built environment revolve around sustainability, technology integration, and adaptable design. Sustainable practices like energy efficiency and eco-friendly materials are becoming increasingly important.

Additionally, adaptable design principles, accommodating changing needs and preferences, are gaining prominence. These trends collectively drive innovation and progress in the built environment, ensuring a more resilient and responsive urban landscape.
